Sergey defeated American Brian Mendoza by unanimous decision.

Ukrainian boxer Sergey Bogachuk won the WBC interim world champion belt in junior middleweight.

On the night of March 31 in Las Vegas (USA), the 28-year-old Ukrainian confidently defeated the American Brian Mendoza.

The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended with the triumph of our compatriot with a unanimous decision: 118-110, 117-111, 117-111.

From the very beginning of the fight, Sergey took the initiative and landed more punches. Despite the fact that Mendoza managed to hold out the full distance, no one had any doubts about the Ukrainian’s victory.

Interesting, that for the first time in his career Bogachuk won his fight without a knockout. Now he has 24 wins on his record (23 by knockout) and the only defeat in professional training, which he suffered in 2021 from the American Brandon Adams.

In his last fight in July 2023, Bogachuk knocked out in the first round of Ghanaian Patrick Aloti.

Note that Bogachuk was supposed to box with American Sebastian Fundora for the full vacant WBC junior middleweight belt. However, the Ukrainian was deprived of his championship fight – Fundora replaced the injured Keith Thurman in a fight against Timofey Tszyu, where the WBO and WBC junior middleweight titles were at stake.
