The Ukrainian women's national handball team qualified for the 2024 European Championship. The “blue-yellows” won a pass to the continental championship following the results of the final qualifying round match against Slovakia.

To maintain second place in their group and qualify for the tournament, Boris Chizhov’s team had only to not lose to the Slovaks with a difference of more than five heads The meeting ended with a draw result of 25:25 (15:13, 10:12), which suited our team.

Ukrainians with 7 points (3 wins , 1 draw and 2 defeats) beat Slovakia (5 points) and Israel (0) in the quartet. From the first place of the group, where Ukraine played, the German team advanced to the European Championship, which scored 12 points, winning all six of its matches.

The final part of the women's Euro 2024 handball will take place from November 28 to December 15 in three countries: Austria, Hungary and Switzerland. 24 national teams will take part in the tournament.

The Ukrainian women's handball team will play at the European Championship for the first time since 2014. The Ukrainian was a constant participant in continental tournaments from 1994 to 2014. After that, our team missed four European Championships in a row.

Note that the best result of the Ukrainian handball team at the Women's Euro remains “silver” in 2000. Then in the semi-finals the “blue-yellows” beat the Russians (28:24), but lost to Hungary in the final (30:32).
