Roman Bezus was diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Ukrainian midfielder of the Cypriot Omonia Roman Bezus was seriously injured in the national championship match with Anorthosis.

As Omonia reported on its social networks, doctors diagnosed the 33-year-old Ukrainian with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Bezus entered the match with Anorthosis in the starting lineup, but was forced to leave in the 10th minute field due to damage.

Now Roman faces a long process of recovery from injury. Approximately it will be about six months. So this season, the Ukrainian football player will no longer be able to help his team.

Bezus has already commented on his injury on the Instagram page.

“I haven’t posted for a long time, I was waiting for the end of the season. But for me the season ended early. It happened. I have to face this problem and come out of it better and stronger. I believe,” the midfielder wrote.

In This season, Roman played 38 matches for the club from Nicosia in all competitions, scored 14 goals and gave 10 assists.

Three rounds before the end of the championship, Omonia ranks third in the Championship Group, losing three points to AEK from Larnaca and four to APOEL.

Recall that Bezus moved to Omonia from the Belgian Ghent in the summer of 2022. His contract with the Cypriot club runs until May 31 with an option to extend for another season, but it is not yet known whether the parties will continue cooperation.

Bezus is known for his performances for Vorskla, Dynamo, Dnepr, as well as the Ukrainian national team, where he was last called up in the summer of 2021. He has 24 matches and 5 goals in the national team jersey.
