Alexander Zubkov received a punishment for a flagrant foul in the game with Vorskla.

The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) suspended Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Alexander Zubkov for two matches for a red card in the match of the 24th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) ) with Poltava “Vorskla”.

Zubkov was sent off in the 56th minute of the match with ” Vorskloy”. The 27-year-old midfielder received a straight red card for kicking Poltava goalkeeper Pavel Isenko in the head – the Pitmen's footballer tried to play for finishing, but did not reach the ball.

The Vorskla – Shakhtar match ended in a minimal victory (1:0) of Marino Pusic's team.

Note that for Zubkov this is his debut sending off at the adult level. Previously, he received a red card only once – in the 2015/2016 season as part of Shakhtar U-21.

Due to his disqualification, Alexander already missed the rescheduled match of the 10th round of the UPL against Zorya. , in which the Donetsk club clawed out victory for the most part (3:1). Zubkov will also not take part in the upcoming game with Lugansk, which will take place on Monday, April 22.

This season, Zubkov played 32 matches for Shakhtar in all competitions, scored 6 goals and made 11 assists.

Now Shakhtar is leading in the UPL championship race, four points ahead of Dynamo. The Pitmen have 55 points after 23 matches.
