The long-awaited return: “Karpaty” secured access to the UPL

“Lions” will play in the elite division of the Ukrainian championship for the first time since the 2019/20 season.

Lvov Karpaty will spend the next season in theUkrainian Premier League (UPL).

Myron Markevich's team secured a direct ticket to the elite division ahead of schedule thanks to a victory over Poltava (1:0) in the 6th round of the championship group of the First League .

After 24 matches played, the “green-whites” lead the First League standings with 60 points. “Lions” will definitely finish in the top 2, so they guaranteed themselves access to the UPL.

Four rounds before the finish, Markevich’s team became unattainable for “Left Bank”, which is in third place in the First League with 46 points and will no longer be able to bypass the Lviv club. In second place is “Ingulets” (55 points).

Note that “Karpaty” will play in the UPL for the first time since the 2019/20 season.

Recall that two the best clubs of the First League, and the third and fourth teams will play with the 13th and 14th places of the UPL for the right to promotion.
