Ilya Kovtun, after winning the parallel bars, also triumphed in the horizontal bar exercises.

The Ukrainian team won the fourth medal at the 2024 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships, which takes place in Rimini, Italy. Ilya Kovtun won gold in the horizontal bar exercise.

The 20-year-old Ukrainian became the best in the horizontal bar exercise with a score of 14.600 points.

Kovtun in wrestling for the gold award he beat out Robert Tvorogal from Lithuania (14.566 points) and Cypriot Marios Georgiou (14.366 points), who became silver and bronze medalists, respectively.

Thus, Ilya won the second gold medal of the day at the 2024 European Championship in artistic gymnastics. Before that, he won gold in parallel bars exercises.

Kovtun became the European champion in high bar exercises for the first time in his career. In total, he now has seven medals at continental championships, three of which are gold.

The Ukrainian national team already has four medals at Euro 2024 in artistic gymnastics. Earlier, Oleg Vernyaevwon silver in the all-around, and Nazar Chepurnywon bronze in vault.

The European Men's Championship in Rimini will last until 28 April. And from May 2 to May 5, the women's continental championship in artistic gymnastics will take place.

Recall that the previous Euro 2023 in artistic gymnastics, where men and women competed, the Ukrainian team finished with four awards (one gold ” and three “bronzes”), taking fifth place in the medal standings.
