Tenth title in the last 12 years: PSG became the French champion ahead of schedule

For the Parisian club, this is the 12th championship in history and the third in a row.

PSG won the French Championship of the 2023/24 season ahead of schedule. Luis Enrique's team secured the title three rounds before the end of the current Ligue 1.

This was facilitated by Lyon's victory over Monaco (3:2) in the home match of the 31st round of the French championship. The Parisians have a 12-point lead over the second-placed Monegasques. Thus, PSG became unattainable for their rivals in the standings.

For the Parisians, this is the third championship in a row and the 12th in history (1985/86, 1993/94, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2019/20, 2021/22, 2022/23, 2023/24).

And ten of these titles have been won by PSG over the past 12 seasons. During this time, only Monaco (2016/17) and Lille (2020/21) managed to interrupt the hegemony of the Parisians.

PSG is the French record holder for the number of championship titles. The closest pursuers of the Parisians are Saint-Etienne (10), Marseille (9), Monaco, Nantes (8 each), Lyon (7), Bordeaux, Reims (6 each) .

We would like to add that Enrique’s team can win several more trophies this season. The Parisians continue to fight in the Champions League and on Wednesday, May 1, in Dortmund they will play against Borussia in the first match of the semi-finals.

PSG also reached the final of the French Cup, where they will fight Lyon on May 25.
