"Canelo" won a convincing victory over his compatriot Jaime Munguia.

The fight between the two Mexicans took place on the night of May 5 in Las Vegas and ended with Canelo winning by unanimous decision.
The start of the fight was equal – Munguia tried to act as number one and even took rounds. However, in the fourth round, Alvarez caught his opponent with a great combination, which he finished with a powerful uppercut. Consequently, Jaime suffered a knockdown, which was the first of his career.

Mungia managed to get up from the canvas and continue the fight. However, after the knockdown, Saul no longer gave up the initiative to his opponent and confidently took round after round.
The boxers went the entire distance of 12 rounds, following which the judges unanimously declared Alvarez’s triumph: 117-110, 116-111, 115 -112.
For the 33-year-old Canelo, this victory was the 61st in the professional ring (39 by knockout) with two defeats and two draws.
27-year-old Munguia suffered first defeat in professional boxing. He also has 43 wins (34 by knockout).
We would like to add that in June 2023, Munguia defeated Ukrainian Sergei Derevyanchenko by unanimous decision.
