Naoya Inoue was knocked down at the start of the fight, and then brutally “knocked out” Luis Neri
Undisputed world champion in the second bantamweight Naoya Inoue spectacularly defeated challenger for the WBC title Luis Neri.
The championship match took place on May 6 in Tokyo, Japan and ended with the early triumph of the Japanese boxer over his Mexican opponent.
In the first round, the Japanese was knocked down for the first time in his career. However, Inoue managed to get to his feet and then sent Nery to the canvas three times.
In the sixth round, the referee stopped the fight after Nery was knocked down for the third time after a series of powerful blows from the Japanese.

For Inoue, who earned the nickname “The Monster,” this is his 27th win (24 by knockout) in 27 pro fights.
Nery lost for only the second time in his professional career. He also has 35 wins (27 by knockout).
