“People from Ukraine are brave, don’t hide”: another world champion challenged Lomachenko to a fight

Shakur Stevenson, following Gervonta Davis, announced his readiness to enter the ring with the Ukrainian.

WBC world lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson expressed a desire to fight against IBF title holder Vasily Lomachenko, who on May 12brightly knocked out former “absolute” in the lightweight division George Kambosos.

The 26-year-old American boxer addressed the Ukrainian on his Twitter page, expressing the hope that Vasily will not avoid a fight with him.

“I respect your style. I respect that you are a legend, but I don’t respect your willingness not to fight me. People from Ukraine are brave. Don’t hide behind Top Rank because it’s not brave of you,” Shakur wrote .

Stevenson also commented on Lomachenko’s victory over Kambosos. The Ukrainian knocked out the Australian in the 11th round and won the vacant IBF world lightweight champion belt.

“I'll say this: Loma is still a damn good fighter. He showed his skills last night and I think he's a special, once-in-a-lifetime fighter.

I hope so.” his team and the higher authorities will get out of the way and allow me to show my skills against him, because I believe that stylistically it would be a confrontation between two of the most skilled chess masters. Until then, watch me on July 6th. You all have forgotten how great I am.” , – Stevenson wrote.

Note that Lomachenko had previously challenged WBA lightweight world champion Gervonta Davis. In turn, promoter Bob Arum named the likely date of the Ukrainian's next fight and the names of potential opponents.
