"Gypsy King" commented on the resonant incident in an unusual manner for himself.
WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury reacted tothe skirmish of his father John with the team world champion under WBO, WBA, IBO and IBF Alexander Usik.
The Briton unexpectedly did without his usual trash talk. The “Gypsy King” said that he arrived in Saudi Arabia in order to box in the ring, and not to be distracted by unnecessary things.
“I didn't see anything. I was in the room doing an interview for Sky Sports. I didn't come here for that at all, but to do my job in the ring and go home to rest. My team? They do what they do. I’ve definitely seen worse than a cut on the head,” Fury quoted Boxing Scene as saying.
A clash between teams of boxers took place on May 13 in Riyadh. Fury's team began to loudly interfere with Usyk, who at that time was giving an interview to the British television channel Sky Sports. A scuffle arose, during which the father of the “Gypsy King” headbutted a member of Usik’s team, but he himself suffered from this, breaking his forehead to the point of bleeding.
Later, Fury Sr. made a statement , apologizing for his behavior. A member of Usik’s team, who was hit by Fury’s father, shared details of the “bloody” clash. The director of the team of the Ukrainian champion also reacted to the incident.
A video of Usik’s reaction also appearedto his team's clash with the father of the “Gypsy King”. Alexander himself spoke categorically about the resonant incident.
When the Usyk-Fury fight for the title of absolute world champion
Usyk-Fury fight will take place on May 18 in Riyadh. The fight was initially scheduled for February 17, but due to an injury the Briton received during one of the sparrings, it had to be postponed.
The winner of the Usyk-Fury fight will become the first absolute champion world heavyweight division in the 21st century.
The last “absolute” in the heavyweight division was Lennox Lewis, who won this status in 1999 when he defeated Evander Holyfield. Then the WBA, WBC and IBF titles were at stake. The WBO belt was recognized as equal in 2007, so the winner of the fight between Usik and Fury will become the first “absolute” heavyweight champion in history with four major titles.
We would like to remind you that the winner of the fight between Usik and Fury will be deprived of one from championship belts.
