Andrei Kutsenko gave his life defending his homeland from the Russian occupiers.

The famous Ukrainian cyclist Andrey Kutsenko died in the war against the Russian invaders

The Lviv Regional State Administration reported the tragic news on its page on Facebook.

At the time of his death, Andrei was 35 years old. After the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he returned to Ukraine from Italy, where he lived with his family, and voluntarily joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Kutsenko defended his native land in different directions of the front. The last battle took place as part of the 47th separate mechanized brigade “Magura” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He died on July 3, 2024 in a battle with Russian occupiers.

Kutsenko was born in Zhovkva. He was a master of sports of Ukraine of international class, a winner and prize-winner of international competitions, a participant in European and world championships, and a multiple champion of Ukraine in track cycling. During 2006-2016, he represented the Lviv region in the national track cycling team.

It was previously reported that an ex-football player of famous Ukrainian clubs died in the war against the Russian occupiers Igor Stakhiv.
