Set another record: the 17-year-old Spanish prodigy became the best young player of Euro 2024

The youngest winner of the European Championship in history also received an individual award.

Spain national team winger Lamin Yamal was recognized as the best young player of Euro 2024.

Photo of a 17-year-old student of the Catalan “Barcelona” ” with the corresponding award appeared on the official pages of the tournament on social networks.

In the final match against England, he started for the Red Fury and made an assist to Nico Williams early in the second half.

In total, Yamal played in all 7 matches at the 2024 European Championship, scoring one goal and making 4 assists.

Lamin became the youngest Euro winner in history. At the time of the final fight, he was 17 years and one day old.

Yamal had previously achieved a number of other unique achievements. Lamine is the youngest player and assistant in Euro history. He also broke Pele's record and became the youngest scorer of a goal at a major international tournament – the European or World Championship.

Spain beat England with a score of 2:1 and won the European Championship for the fourth time in history. The Red Fury became the sole record holder for this indicator, beating Germany by one title.

The Pyrenees played in the Euro finals for the fifth time. In 1964, the Spaniards defeated the USSR national team in the final (2:1), in 1984 they lost to France (0:2), in 2008 they beat Germany (1:0), and in 2012 they defeated Italy in Kiev (4 :0).

England reached the European Championship final for the second time in history, but again failed to win the trophy. In the decisive match of the previous Euro, which took place in 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Gareth Southgate's team lost to the Italians in a penalty shootout (1:1, pen. 2:3).
