It remains unknown who will replace the Dnepr team in the next Ukrainian Championship.
Dnipro-1was officially excluded from the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL).
This was reported on the official website of the organization.
“Today, at the General Meeting of Participants of the Ukrainian Premier League, they discussed the statement of SC “Dnepr-1” regarding withdrawal from the competition and possible options for replacing the club in the 2024/25 season.
Representatives of the UPL clubs decided to satisfy the request of SC Dnepr-1 to exclude them from the competition participants. Then, based on the results of the rating vote, two proposals were identified for consideration and approval by the UAF Executive Committee in accordance with Article 5 of the Regulations to replace SC “Dnepr-1”.
The first one with the most votes is to provide a place in the UAF FC “Minai”.
The second is to hold a transitional tournament with the participation of four teams (“Minai”, “Metalist 1925”, “Left Bank” and “Epicenter”), the winner of which will play in the UPL in the 2024 season /25.
The final decision on this issue must be approved by the UAF Executive Committee,” the message says.
Last season, Dnepr-1 took fourth place in the UPL. Yuri’s charges Maksimov were supposed to play against the Hungarian Puskas Academy in the second round of the Conference League qualification. The matches were planned to be held on July 25 and August 1.
Previously, the commercial director of the Dnipro club, Vyacheslav Fridman, said in an interview with Tribuna.com that because of due to financial problems, the team is ready to withdraw from the Ukrainian championship.
“We have a budget, but only until winter. Therefore, if there is no budget before the summer, we will not start, so as not to spoil the championship for others,” Friedman said.
