The XXXIII Summer Olympics will last until August 11.

On Friday, July 26, the 2024 Olympic Games officially started in Paris, France.

Representatives of 206 countries will take part in the XXXIII Summer Olympics, who will compete for 329 sets of medals in 32 sports. The competition will last until August 11.

For the first time in history, the Olympic Games opening ceremony was held not in a stadium, but in the middle of the city.

Athletes from the countries participating in the 2024 Olympics sailed six kilometers along the Seine River to the Eiffel Tower in boats. Among them was the Ukrainian delegation of 58 athletes.

Finally, the participants of the Olympics and fans were congratulated by the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach and the President of France Emmanuel Macron, after which the traditional lighting of the Olympic flame took place.

It should be noted that the first competitions at the 2024 Olympics began two days before the opening ceremony, including the football tournament, at the start of which the Ukrainian team lost to Iraq (1:2).

The first world record has already been set at the 2024 Olympics. This happened in the women's archery qualification competition, where Ukraine is represented by Veronika Marchenko.

A total of 140 athletes will represent Ukraine at the Games in Paris, competing in 23 sports.

The first sets of awards at the Paris Olympics will be awarded on Saturday, July 27. The closing ceremony of the 2024 Games will be held on August 11.
