The British gave the public a spectacular fight.
On the night of July 28, a heavyweight fight took place in London, in which the Briton Derek Chisora defeated his compatriot Joe Joyce.
The opponents went through a full distance of ten rounds, following which the judges unanimously gave the victory to Chisora: 97-92, 96-94, 96-94.
The fight turned out to be truly spectacular. The Britons exchanged dangerous blows, sometimes even forgetting about defense.
In the ninth round, Joyce boldly went on the attack, tried to pin Chisora near the ropes, but Derek responded powerfully and knocked his opponent down. Joe managed to get up and continued the fight.
In the final three minutes, Joyce tried to get Chisora, but it did not help. Derek held out and was declared the winner of the fight by unanimous judges' verdict.
Review of the Chisora vs. Joyce fight
It should be noted that the absolute world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk came to London to support his former opponent. The Ukrainian boxer watched the fight in the arena and visited Chisora's locker room before and after the fight.

For the 40-year-old Chisora, this victory was the 35th (23 by knockout) in 48 fights in the professional ring.
The 38-year-old Joyce suffered the third defeat in his professional career, with Joe losing three of his last four fights. Before this, he lost twice early to the Chinese Zhang Zhilei.
It was previously reported that Usik renounced one of his titles and the title of absolute world champion.
