Elina easily made it to the 1/16 finals of the individual tournament.

Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina crushed Japanese Moyuki Uchijima at the start of the singles tournament of the 2024 Olympics.

In the 1/32 finals, the Ukrainian defeated the representative of Japan in two sets – 6:2, 6:1.

The match lasted 1 hour and 2 minutes. Elina served aces twice, avoided double faults and used 5 of 9 break points.

In the second round, Svitolina will play against the winner of the match between American Jessica Pegula and Swiss Viktoria Golubic.

Elina became the first Ukrainian tennis player to play a match at the 2024 Olympic Games. Later, on July 28, Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremska will play their opening matches of the individual tournament.

Earlier it was reported that Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina withdrew from the 2024 Olympics.
