Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina has withdrawn from the 2024 Olympic Games.

At the start of the singles tournament, the 27-year-old native of Nova Kakhovka was supposed to play against the Dutchwoman Aranci Rus. Now in the 1/32 finals, the Ukrainian will be replaced by Australian Olivia Gadecki.

As the coach of the Ukrainian national tennis team, Mikhail Filimonov, told Suspilne Sport, Kalinina developed a fever due to the rain and bad weather that was in Paris on Saturday, July 27.

It should be noted that Ukraine will be represented in the singles tennis tournament at the 2024 Olympic Games by Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska and Elina Svitolina, and in the doubles by the duos Marta Kostyuk/Dayana Yastremska and Lyudmila Kichenok/Nadiya Kichenok.
