In the second round match, She won a hard-fought victory over the world's sixth-ranked American Jessica Pegula. The match lasted 1 hour and 49 minutes and ended with a score of 4:6, 6:1, 6:3 in favor of the Ukrainian.

This was the sixth meeting between the tennis players. Svitolina was able to defeat Pegula only for the second time in her career, while she lost to this opponent four times.

For a ticket to the quarterfinals, Elina will fight against the current Wimbledon champion, the Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
