 Ukraine dramatically missed out on 2024 Olympic medal in rowing

"Blue-yellow" in the last meters of the distance, they lost the fight for the “bronze”.

Ukraine stopped one step away from winning a second medal at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

In the women's quadruple sculls, Evgeniya Dovgodko, Darya Verkhoglyad, Anastasia Kozhenkova and Ekaterina Dudchenko took fifth place in the final.

The Ukrainians covered the first 500 meters in second place and were in third place after half the distance. However, in the final meters the “blue-yellows” dropped out of the top 3 and eventually finished fifth.

The “gold” in this discipline was won by athletes from the Netherlands, “silver” – from Great Britain, and “bronze” – from Germany.

Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.

So far, Ukraine has only one award in its collection at the 2024 Olympics – bronze, which was won in individual sabre by Olga Kharlan.
