Mykhailo Kokhan successfully passed the qualification.

Ukrainian athlete Mykhailo Kokhan reached the final of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in the hammer throw.

To pass the qualification, athletes had to clear the 77-meter threshold or enter the top 12.

In his second attempt, the 23-year-old The Ukrainian met the qualifying standard, showing a result of 77.42 meters.

The final of the men's hammer throw competition at the 2024 Olympics will be held on Sunday, August 4. The start is at 21:30 Kyiv time.

The Paris Olympics are the second in Kokhan's career. At the 2020 Tokyo Games, he stopped one step short of the podium, taking fourth place with a result of 80.39 meters.

Mykhailo is currently third in the world hammer thrower rankings. At the 2024 European Athletics Championships, he won “bronze”, showing a result of 80.18 meters.

Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
