On Saturday, August 3, the Ukrainian women's sabre fencing team won gold in the team tournament at the Olympic games-2024.

Olga Kharlan, Olena Kravatska, Alina Komashchuk and Yulia Bakastova have forever written their names into the history of Ukrainian and world sports.

In the final, the Ukrainians defeated the South Korean team with a score of 45:42. The “blue-yellows” were losing 37:40, but in the last fight, Kharlan snatched a victory for Ukraine, and therefore the first “gold” at the 2024 Games.

After the victory, an awards ceremony was held, where the Ukrainian flag was raised and the Ukrainian anthem was played for the first time at the 2024 Olympics.

It should be noted that for Kharlan, this is the second medal at the Olympics in Paris. Earlier, she won bronze in the individual sabre championship.

Overall, this is the sixth Olympic award in Kharlan's career. At the previous Olympic Games, she won four medals: she became the 2008 Olympic champion and the 2016 silver medalist in the team tournament, and also won bronze medals in the individual championship at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

Thus, Harlan became the absolute record holder of Ukraine for medals won at the Olympics.
