 Maguchikh and Gerashchenko fight for medals: online video broadcast of the 2024 Olympic high jump final

On Sunday, August 4, the high jump final will be held at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Ukraine will be represented in it by two athletes – Yaroslav Maguchikh and Irina Gerashchenko. Starts at 20:55 Kyiv time.

Both athletes reached the final, clearing the height of 1.95 meters in the qualification.

Another Ukrainian, Yulia Levchenko, did not reach the final, failing to clear the bar at a height of 1.83 meters in three attempts.

Let us add that at the beginning of July this year, Maguchikh broke the world recordin women's high jump. The 22-year-old athlete from Dnepr was the first in history to clear a height of 2.10 meters at the Diamond League stage in Paris. Yaroslava surpassed the achievement of Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who jumped 2.09 meters at the 1987 World Championships in Rome.

As of now, Ukraine has three medals in its collection at the 2024 Olympics: Olga Kharlan won bronze in individual sabre, and together with Elena Kravatskaya, Alina Komashchuk and Yulia Bakastova won gold as a team. In addition, Serhiy Kulish won silver in shooting.

Another medal, at least silver, was guaranteed for Ukraine by Oleksandr Khyzhnyak, who reached the final of the boxing tournament.

Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
