Iryna Kolyadenko will continue to fight for her second Olympic award.
Ukrainian freestyle wrestler Iryna Kolyadenko has reached the semifinals of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
In the quarterfinals, the 25-year-old Ukrainian, competing in the 62 kg weight category, defeated Bulgarian representative Bilyana Dudova with a score of 7:3.
Before that, in the 1/8 finals, Kolyadenko defeated Orkhon Purevdorj from Mongolia (8:7).
In the semi-finals, Irina will compete against Kyrgyzstan representative Aisulu Tininbekova, who is the silver medalist of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in this weight category. The fight will take place today, August 9, at approximately 19:55 Kyiv time.
Kolyadenko is a bronze medalist of the 2020 Olympics. She is a three-time European champion (2021, 2023, 2024), won bronze at the 2020 European Championships, as well as silver (2019) and bronze (2023) at the World Championships.

Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes competing in 23 sports. The Paris Games will last until August 11.
As of now, Ukraine already has eleven awards from the 2024 Olympics: three gold, four silver and four bronze. The “blue-yellows” are in 15th place in the medal standings.
