In the final match at the Parc des Princes stadium in Paris, the Red Fury beat the host of the competition France in extra times – 5:3.
Already in the 11th minute of the match, “Les Blais” took the lead thanks to a goal by Enzo Milhaud. However, even before the break, the Spaniards responded with three goals – Fermin Lopez scored a double, after which Alex Baena scored.
In the second half, Thierry Henry's men managed to come back. First, in the 79th minute, Magnes Akliusz reduced the gap in the score, and then in stoppage time, in the 90+3rd minute, Jean-Philippe Mateta converted a penalty and sent the game into extra time (3:3).
But in the extra periods, the Spanish team turned out to be stronger, sending two more goals into the French goal. Sergio Camello scored twice, scoring in the 100th and 120+1st minutes.
The bronze medalist of the 2024 Olympics men's football tournament was the Moroccan team, which the day before defeated Egypt with a score of 6 in the match for third place: 0.
Recall that at the 2024 Games, Ukraine was represented in the Olympic football tournament for the first time in history. Ruslan Rotan's team lost to Iraq (1:2), short-handed won a victory over Morocco (2:1) and lost to Argentina (0:2 ), failing to get into the quarterfinals with three points.
