The Ukrainians were in second place, but ended up finishing only seventh.
The Ukrainian team competed in the group all-around final in rhythmic gymnastics at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Following the two exercises, the Ukrainians took seventh place with a total score of 65.700 points.
In the final, our team was represented by Diana Baeva, Alina Melnik, Maria Vysochanskaya, Valeria Peremeta and Kira Shirykina.
After the exercises with five hoops, the Ukrainians were in second place, but in the exercises with three ribbons and two balls, they lost several objects and received the lowest score – 29.150 points. This prevented our athletes from reaching the medals.
The Chinese team won the gold (69.800 points). “Silver” was won by the Israelis (68.850 points), and “bronze” by the Italians (68.100 points).
Let's add that the day before, 16-year-old Ukrainian Taisiya Onofriychuk took 9th place in the final of the individual all-around in rhythmic gymnastics at the 2024 Olympics.
Ukraine is represented at the XXXIII Summer Olympics by 140 athletes who compete in 23 sports. The Games in Paris will last until August 11.
As of now, Ukraine already has eleven awards at the 2024 Olympics: three gold, four silver and four bronze. The “blue-yellows” are in 18th place in the medal standings.
The number of medals won by Ukraine will definitely increase this evening, August 10, because freestyle wrestler Irina Kolyadenko will fight for “gold”. The day before, she made it to the final and guaranteed herself at least “silver”.
