"A Step Towards Victory": Olympic Champion Maguchikh Donates Another Million UAH for the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Yaroslava Donates to Igor Lachenkov's Collection.

Ukrainian high jumper Yaroslava Maguchikh, who won“gold” at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, transferred another million hryvnia to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Volunteer and blogger Igor Lachenkov reported this on his Telegram channel.

“Olympic champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh just donated a million hryvnia from her prize money to us for collection. I am shocked, she is simply the best person and pride, thank you very much,” Lachenkov wrote.

Maguchikh herself commented on her donation on social networks, noting that any help to the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a step towards victory over the Russian occupiers.

” – how much do you need to be happy?

– one million hryvnia zero kopecks.

But seriously, this is my third big, and most importantly public donation. I want to remind you that any daily amount for the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a step towards victory.

I would like to say that there are no small donations and thank the guys, Igor Lachenkov and Evgeny Pronin, for organizing collections over the years that save lives and destroy enemies,” Maguchikh wrote.

It should be noted that this is not the first time that Maguchikh has provided financial assistance to the Ukrainian military. It was previously reported that she donated 500 thousand hryvnia for the treatment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers. Yaroslava also donated a million hryvnia to animal rights activists.

At the Games in Paris, the 22-year-old athlete from Dnipro won her second Olympic medal in her career and her first “gold”. In Tokyo 2020, she won “bronze”.

Recall that in early July of this year, Maguchikh broke a world recordin women's high jump. At the Diamond League stage in Paris, the Ukrainian was the first in history to clear a height of 2.10 meters. Yaroslava surpassed the achievement of the Bulgarian Stefka Kostadinova, who jumped 2.09 meters at the 1987 World Championships in Rome.
