 UPL: "Kryvbas" beat "Veres" in a match with two removals, LNZ won a comeback victory over "Rukh"

Two more matches of the third round of the Ukrainian football championship took place.

In the matches of the 3rd round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) season 2024/25 Kryvbas beat Veres away (0:2), and LNZ beat Rukh at home (3:1).

Yuriy Vernydub's team took the lead in the 12th minute of the match – Prince Adu scored.

In the 28th minute, the Rivne club was left in the minority – Maksym Smiyan earned the second yellow card and was sent off.

After the break, the teams' lineups were equal – in the 51st minute, Oleksandr Romanchuk received a direct red card.

In the 81st minute, the Kryvyi Rih team scored for the second time – the final score of the game was set by Timur Stetskov, who converted a penalty.

Review of the match “Veres” – “Kryvbas”

Kryvbas (6 points) rose to fourth place in the UPL. Veres is in 14th place with one point.

On Thursday, August 22, Vernydub's team will play the first match of the Conference League qualification playoff round against Spanish Betis. On Sunday, August 25, Kryvbas will host Ingulets in the 4th round of the UPL.

Veres will play against Metalist 1925 on August 22 as part of the third preliminary stage of the Ukrainian Cup. On August 26, Oleg Shandruk's team will play away against Kolos in the 4th round of the UPL.

As for the match that was held in parallel, in the 52nd minute Ilya Kvasnitsa put Rukh ahead.

However, LNZ then scored three times. In the 73rd minute, Olivier Thiel tied the score, in the 82nd minute, Gennady Pasich's goal allowed the Cherkasy team to take the lead in the match, and in stoppage time, Muharrem Yashari put the finishing touches by converting a penalty.

LNZ vs. Rukh match review

LNZ (6 points) rose to sixth place in the UPL. “Rukh” has 3 points after two matches and occupies the tenth line.

In the 4th round of the Ukrainian championship, Andres Carrasco's charges will host “Karpaty” on August 26, and the “yellow-blacks” will host “Zorya” the day before.
