Ukrainian super middleweight boxer Sergey Derevyanchenko lost to the Frenchman Christian M'Billi in a fight that took place on the night of August 18 in Quebec (Canada).
Following 10 rounds, the judges unanimously gave Mbilli's victory – 100:90, 99:91, 99:91.
It should be noted that in the third round, Derevyanchenko injured his left hand, after which he was forced to box only with his right hand until the end of the fight.
Having defeated the Ukrainian, the Frenchman defended his WBC Continental Americas and WBA International titles.
Derevyanchenko vs. Mbilli fight review
For 38-year-old Derevyanchenko, this is the sixth defeat in his career, and the fifth in the last seven fights. He also has 15 wins (10 by knockout) on his resume.
29-year-old Mbilly won his 28th professional victory (23 by knockout). He remains undefeated.
Recall that Derevyanchenko had a chance to become world champion three times, but was never able to do so. In 2018, he lost to American Daniel Jacobs in a fight for the IBF title, in 2019 he lost to Kazakh Gennady Golovkin in a fight for the IBF and IBO belts, and in 2020 he lost to Jermall Charlo in a fight for the WBC title.
