 Karpaty alumnus killed in war with Russian occupiers

Igor Severenchuk gave his life in the battle for the independence of Ukraine.

Karpaty Lviv alumnus Igor Severenchuk died in the war against the Russian invaders.

The sad news was reported by the NOC of Ukraine.

It is noted that Severenchuk gave his life on August 13 in a battle near the settlement Pogrebki, Kursk region.

Severenchuk was born on December 17, 1993. He graduated from the Institute of Geodesy of the National University “Lviv Polytechnic”. He lived in the village of Obroshino, Lviv district. He was mobilized for military service in April 2022. He was the chief sergeant of the airborne assault platoon.

The soldier was 31 years old. He is survived by his wife Veronika, son Denis, mother, father and brother.

During his service, he received the “Indestructible Heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian War” award, the “Cross of Honor” award, the award of the commander of the operational-tactical group “Liman”, the “For Military Valor” badge, the “Golden Cross” and “For Courage”.

Severenchuk is a graduate of the Karpaty Youth Sports School, where his coach was Gennady Bronislavovich Pogorelets.

Earlier it was reported that the former football player of famous Ukrainian clubs Igor Stakhiv died in the war against the Russian occupiers.
