“Arsenal” of Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko won away against “Aston Villa” in the match of the 2nd round of the English Premier League (EPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Villa Park stadium in Birmingham ended with a score of 0:2.

In the first half, the teams failed to change the score on the scoreboard. In the middle of the second half of the match, Mikel Arteta's charges took the lead – Leandro Trossard made an accurate strike in the 67th minute.

In the 77th minute, the “gunners” consolidated their advantage in the score – Thomas Partey scored a goal after an assist from Bukayo Saka. Unai Emery's men were unable to respond.

It should be noted that Zinchenko spent the entire match on the bench. Jurien Timber was in the starting lineup as left back, but was replaced by Riccardo Calafiori in the 80th minute.

This is Arsenal's second consecutive victory at the start of the new Premier League season. In the first round, the London club defeated Wolverhampton with a score of 2:0. The Gunners are in third place in the English championship standings with 6 points.

Aston Villa suffered their first defeat this season. The Lions are in 12th place in the Premier League, with three points to their credit.

In the third round of the Premier League, Arsenal will host Brighton, and Aston Villa will meet Leicester away. Both matches will take place on August 31.
