Victor's first match this season ended in a "dry" defeat.
Girona of Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov suffered a crushing defeat away to Atletico in the 2nd round of the Spanish La Ligaseason 2024/25. The match at the Metropolitano stadium in Madrid ended with a score of 3:0.
The “Mattress Makers” opened the scoring before the break. The Catalan goalkeeper Paulo Gassaniga played with his hands outside his own penalty area – the referee awarded a free kick and showed him a yellow card. Antoine Griezmann immediately punished the guests for such recklessness, accurately hitting the goalkeeper's corner from a set piece.
After the break, Diego Simeone's team doubled their lead – in the 48th minute, Marcos Llorente scored a goal, and Griezmann added an assist.
Atletico made the score crushing at the end of the game. In stoppage time, in the 90+4th minute, Koke scored after an assist from Llorente.
