“Roma” of Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk unexpectedly lost to “Empoli” on their home field in the match of the 2nd round of the Italian Serie A season 2024/25. The match at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome ended with a score of 1:2.
The visitors took the lead at the end of the first half. Emmanuel Gyasi scored after a pass from Lorenzo Colombo.
In the 61st minute, Empoli doubled their lead – Colombo converted a penalty.
In the 80th minute, the Romans reduced the gap – Eldor Shomurodov, who had come on as a substitute three minutes earlier, scored a goal. However, Daniele De Rossi's charges were unable to avoid defeat.
Dovbyk came out in the starting lineup of Roma and played the entire match. This was the Ukrainian's second match for his new club. In the first round of Serie A, he made his debut for the “wolves” in an away game against Cagliari (0:0).
