Denis Yashchuk gave his life in the fight for Ukraine's independence.
Former Ukrainian national team boxer Denis Yashchuk died in the war against the Russian invaders.
The tragic news was reported on the Luckypunch.net Facebook page.
Yashchuk was a graduate of the Maxim boxing club in Netishin, Khmelnytskyi region. He competed in the 52 kg weight category, received the title of Master of Sports of International Class, and was a member of the national team and the Ukrainian Atamans.
The Ukrainian Atamans are a semi-professional boxing team created in 2012 by the Ukrainian Boxing Federation to compete in the popular World Series Boxing (WSB) boxing league. Among others, Oleksandr Usyk, Vasyl Lomachenko, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, Denis Berinchyk and other famous Ukrainian boxers competed for the team.
Earlier it was reported that the former physical training coach of Ukrainian basketball clubs, Dmytro Markhovsky, died in the war with the Russian occupiers.
