Ukrainian national handball player Iryna Glibko has died at the age of 34.
The tragic news was reported by the Handball Federation of Ukraine.
The cause of death was cancer, which the athlete had been battling in recent years.
Glibko played for the Ukrainian national team since 2010, was captain of the team. For the last seven years, the handball player has played in the Romanian championship, where she won the championship twice (2015, 2019), the Cup once (2020) and the Romanian Super Cup (2018).
Irina twice became the best sniper of the Romanian championship (2013, 2018), was recognized as the best left half-back of the championship (2019) and the best legionnaire of the Romanian championship (2019).
