The opponents of Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's charges are Roma (Italy), Lazio (Italy), Ferencvaros (Hungary), Real Sociedad (Spain), Galatasaray (Turkey), Viktoria Plzen (Czech Republic), RFS (Latvia) and Hoffenheim (Germany).

According to the new regulations, instead of the classic group stage, all 36 clubs will compete in a single league, where they will play eight matches with different opponents (four at home and four away). All participants of the Europa League received two opponents from four different baskets.
The eight best teams from the main stage of the Europa League will reach the 1/8 finals. The clubs that take places from 9th to 24th will play paired play-off matches for a place in the 1/8 finals. The rest will finish their performance in European competitions.
Starting from the 1/8 finals, the Europa League play-offs will be held according to the same scheme as before – in the format of two-match confrontations. The final will consist of one match.
