 Zabarnyi beat Mykolenko: Bournemouth made a crazy comeback against Everton in the Premier League

The Cherries were down two goals, but turned the game around in the end and snatched victory.

Bournemouth of Ukrainian defender Ilya Zabarnyi defeated Everton of his compatriot and colleague in the role of Vitaliy Mykolenko in the match of the 3rd round of the English Premier League (EPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Goodison Park stadium in Liverpool ended with a score of 2:3.

The first half of the match passed without goals. At the start of the second half, the Toffees scored twice against the visitors – Michael Keane opened the scoring in the 50th minute, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored seven minutes later.

Until the 87th minute, the Cherries were losing by two goals, but they managed to make a fantastic comeback. First, Antoine Semenyo scored one goal. And in injury time, Bournemouth scored twice more and snatched victory.

In the 90+2nd minute, Lewis Cook equalized the score, and the decisive goal in the 90+6th minute was scored by Luis Sinisterra.

Both Ukrainians entered the field in the starting lineups of their teams and played the full match.

Thanks to this victory, Bournemouth rose to seventh place in the Premier League with 5 points. Everton are at the bottom of the table – Sean Dyche’s men have lost all three matches at the start of the championship.

In the next round, the Merseyside club will face Aston Villa away on September 14, and Andoni Iraola’s men will host Ukrainian winger Mykhailo Mudryk’s Chelsea on the same day.
