Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's team beat LNZ by a minimum score.
Dynamo Kyiv defeated LNZ Cherkasy in the match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Dynamo stadium named after Valeriy Lobanovskyi ended with a score of 1:0.
The “White-Blues” took the lead in the 22nd minute of the match – Andriy Yarmolenko converted a penalty awarded for a foul by Khaidin Salihu in his penalty area against Oleksandr Pikhalyonok.
In the 26th minute, Yarmolenko could have scored a double, but after reviewing the video replay (VAR), the goal was cancelled due to an offside by Vladislav Vanat.
Oleksandr Shovkovskiy's charges failed to develop their advantage. But the Kyivians did not allow their opponent to recoup, holding on to a minimal victory.

For “Dynamo” this is the third victory in a row at the start of the UPL season. Before that, the “white-blues” beat “Veres” (2:1) and “Karpaty” (3:1). With 9 points, the Kyivians rose to fourth place in the standings.
LNZ has 9 points after five matches and is in fifth place in the Ukrainian championship. Earlier, the Cherkasy team defeated “Left Bank” (1:0), lost to “Oleksandria” (0:2), beat “Rukh” (3:1) and defeated “Karpaty” (2:1).
In the next round of the UPL, after the international break, the Kiev team will play against “Zorya” on September 14, and LNZ will host “Kolos” on September 16.
