The Ukrainian national team will play in Division B in the new tournament. The opponents of Serhiy Rebrov's team in the group will be the teams of the Czech Republic, Albania and Georgia.
In the opening round, the “blue-yellows” will play a nominally home match with Albania on September 7 in Prague. After that, the Ukrainians will play an away match with the Czech Republic in the 2nd round on September 10.

According to the updated format of the League of Nations, a participant in the group tournament in Division B, where the Ukrainian national team will compete, if it takes:
- first place – will rise to Division A;
- second place – will play a play-off for promotion to Division A against the team that finishes third in their Division A group;
- third place – will play a play-off for promotion to Division B against the team that finishes second in their Division C group;
- fourth place – will be relegated to Division C.
The play-offs are scheduled for March 2025.
In addition, through the Nations League, you can increase your chances of qualifying for the 2026 World Cup. The 12 winners of the European 2026 World Cup qualifying groups will directly qualify for the final stage of the World Cup. Another four spots in the world championship will be played out in the playoffs, where the 12 runners-up of the World Cup qualifying groups and the four best winners of the 2024/25 Nations League groups who finish below second place in the group stage of the qualification will compete.
