Ukraine Futsal Team Destroys Angola National Teamin the second round of the group stage of the 2024 Futsal World Cup. The match in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, ended with a score of 2:7 in favor of the blue-yellows.
In the first half, Alexander Kosenko's team hit the opponent's goal three times – Igor Korsun scored a double, and Evgeny Zhuk scored another goal. The African team responded with one goal before the break.
In the second half, the Ukrainians dominated and proved their superiority in class. Goals were scored by Andriy Melnyk, Mykhailo Zvarych, Igor Chernyavsky and Nazar Shved. In response, the opponent scored only once.

For the “blue-yellows” this is the first victory at this World Cup. In the opening round, Ukraine suffered a crushing defeat to Argentina (1:7), while Angola lost to Afghanistan (4:6).
In the final, third round of the group stage, the Ukrainians will play against the Afghan team on September 21.
According to the regulations, the two best teams from each group will advance to the 1/8 finals, as well as four of the six teams that take third place in their quartets.
The Ukrainian team is participating in the Futsal World Cup for the sixth time in its history. The best result of the “blue-yellows” is fourth place in the debut tournament for our team in 1996.
At the 2004 and 2008 World Cups, the Ukrainian team stopped in the 2nd group round (top 8), in 2012 it reached the quarter-finals, and in 2016 it was eliminated in the 1/8 finals.
