Instead of the ex-coach of “Shakhtar”: Ronaldo's club got a new coach

Al-Nasr Stefano Pioli, who previously worked with Milan, was appointed head coach of the Saudi Arabian Al-Nasr.

The Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo has appointed Stefano Pioli as head coach.

This was reported by the press service of Al-Nasr.

The contract with the 58-year-old Italian specialist was signed for two years with the possibility of extension for another season.

According to unofficial information, Pioli's salary will be 12 million euros per year.

Pioli replaced Portuguese Luis Castro as the coach of the Saudi club, who has headed Al-Nasr since the summer of 2023.

By the way, from 2019 to 2021, Castro worked as head coach Donetsk “Shakhtar”. Together with the “miners”, he won the Ukrainian championship in the 2019/20 season.

Last season, Al-Nasr took second place in the Saudi Arabian championship standings. Castro's charges are 14 points behind the championship winner, Al-Hilal.

In the current Saudi league campaign, Ronaldo's club is in 7th place with 5 points after three rounds.
