"I'll take the belts from Usyk and fight him": Fury assessed Dubois' sensational victory over Joshua

"The Gypsy King" lavishly praised Daniel after a resounding upset.

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury commented on the snapshot victory of IBF title holder Daniel Dubois over Anthony Joshua.

“The Gypsy King” praised Dubois' performance and said he plans to fight him after beating WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO champion Oleksandr Usyk in a rematch.

“Fantastic job, he did a really good job. Young Dan, he was a great guy. Everybody wrote him off. He was world champion and everybody was talking about him like he was homeless. And he showed what he was made of. And that's great for him. Fantastic. He was a great guy.

AJ losing? Look, that's heavyweight boxing, it happens. Isn't it? It happened to me, it can happen to anybody,” Fury told Queensberry Promotions.

“I'm going to fight the f**king rabbit and the ugly freak Usyk. I'm going to take all the belts again – I guarantee it. After I beat Usyk, I'm going to fight Dubois. That's my plan,” BoxingScene quotes the Briton as saying.

Dubois knocked Joshua out in the fifth round. Before that, he knocked his opponent down three times – in the first, third and fourth rounds.

For Dubois, this was the first defense of his world champion title in his career. Earlier, Daniel, who defeated Croatian Filip Hrgovic ahead of schedule in a fight for the interim IBF title, was promoted to the full champion of the organization after former absolute world champion Oleksandr Usyk relinquished this belt.

So it is Dubois who remains the holder of one of the four main belts in the heavyweight division. The other three titles (WBA, WBO, WBC) belong to Usyk, who will have a rematch against Fury on December 21, 2024.

The 27-year-old Dubois now has 22 wins (21 by knockout) and two losses, which he suffered from Usyk in 2023 and his compatriot Joe Joyce in 2020.

34-year-old Joshua suffered the fourth defeat in his career. Before that, AJ lost to Andy Ruiz in 2019, and lost to Usyk in 2021 and 2022.

Earlier it was reported that Usyk reacted to Joshua's sensational knockout defeat from Dubois.
