"You gave them both a real boxing lesson": Fury addressed Usyk after the fight between Joshua and Dubois (video)

"The Gypsy King" paid tribute to the Ukrainian champion.

The former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury addressed WBA, WBO, WBC and IBO title holder Oleksandr Usyk after the fight for the IBF belt, in which Daniel Dubois knocked out Anthony Joshua.

After the fight, the “Gypsy King”, who was present at the Wembley Arena in London, approached Usyk and, hugging him, showered the Ukrainian with compliments for his boxing skills.

“You taught both of them a proper boxing lesson. Fair play to you, fair play. That's what boxing skills do. Skills to pay the bills. You know what I mean?” Fury said.

Dubois knocked Joshua down in the fifth round. He had previously knocked his opponent down three times – in the first, third and fourth rounds.

During his career, Usyk has twice defeated Joshua by decision – in 2021 and 2022, and also defeated Dubois by knockout in 2023.

Recall that in June 2024, Alexander renounced the IBF title, and with it the title of absolute world champion.

The new owner of this belt was Dubois, who defeated Croatian Filip Hrgovic ahead of schedule in a fight for the interim IBF title – Daniel was promoted to a full champion of the organization. The fight against Joshua was the first defense of the championship belt in Dubois's career.

So it is Dubois who remains the holder of one of the four main belts in the heavyweight division. The other three titles (WBA, WBO, WBC) belong to Usyk, who will hold a rematch against Fury on December 21, 2024.

Earlier it was reported that Usyk reacted to Joshua's sensational knockout defeat by Dubois.
