Shakhtar won a crushing victory over Obolon in the final match of the 7th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) of the 2024/25 season. The match at the Arena Lviv ended with a score of 4:0.
The Donetsk team opened the scoring in the 17th minute – Artem Bondarenko sent the ball into the goal from within the penalty area with one touch after a pass from Vinicius Tobias while falling.
The orange-blacks strengthened their advantage in the second half. In the 67th minute, Lassina Traore made a successful finish after Georgy Sudakov hit the post from close range.
In the 79th minute, Marino Pusic's men made the score a rout – Sudakov scored, and Traore scored an assist.
The final blow to this match was put in the 90th minute by Neverton, who made a successful strike, taking advantage of a pass from Mykola Matviyenko.
Review of the Shakhtar – Obolon match
After this victory, Shakhtar rose to fourth place in the UPL with 12 points. The Miners reduced the gap to four points from the championship leaders, Dynamo and Oleksandria. In turn, Obolon is at the bottom of the standings with 2 points.
In the next round of the UPL, the Donetsk team will play an away match with Veres on September 27, and the Brewers will host Ingulets on August 29.
