The Donetsk team lost points for the third time in the current Ukrainian championship.
"Shakhtar" played a draw away with "Veres" in the opening match of the "8th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) 2024/25 season. The match at the Avangard stadium in Rivne ended with a score of 1:1.
Due to an air raid siren, the match started 20 minutes later than originally planned. The first half ended without goals.
After the break, the Miners opened the scoring in the game – in the 64th minute, Georgiy Sudakov converted a penalty.
However, Marino Pusic's charges failed to hold on to the victory. In the 81st minute, the hosts equalized – Dmytro Klets accurately shot into the left corner from afar.

For “Shakhtar” this is already the third loss of points in the current Ukrainian championship. The Donetsk team with 13 points occupies the fourth place. “Veres” (6 points) rose to the 13th position.
In the next round of the UPL, the “miners” will host LNZ on October 6, and the Rivne club will meet “Zorya” at home the day before.
We note that on Wednesday, October 2, “Shakhtar” will play against the Italian “Atalanta” in the second round of the main round of the Champions League. The fight will start at 19:45 Kyiv time.
