The Zhytomyr team has not lost a single one of its seven matches in the Ukrainian championship this season.
"Polesie" beat "Karpaty" away in the match of the "8th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL)" season 2024/25. The match at the stadium “Ukraine” in Lviv ended with a score of 1:3.
The visitors took the lead in the 18th minute thanks to the efforts of Boris Krushinsky. A minute later, the Lviv team equalized thanks to a goal by Denis Miroshnichenko.
Just before the break, Oleksiy Gutsulyak again put Zhytomyr ahead, taking advantage of a pass from Krushinsky.
In the second half, Imad Ashur's charges strengthened their advantage – Oleksandr Nazarenko scored in the 70th minute.

“Polesie” with 17 points rose to second place in UPL, without losing any of the seven matches in the Ukrainian championship this season (5 wins and 2 draws). The Zhytomyr club is two points behind the leading Oleksandria.
In turn, Karpaty with 8 points are in tenth place in the UPL table.
In the next round of the UPL, Zhytomyr will host Vorskla on October 6, and Vladislav Lupashko's team will play Ingulets at home on October 4.
