"Atletico" dramatically avoided defeat to "Real" in a nearly disrupted Primera match (video)

A tense Madrid derby did not determine a winner.

"Atletico" and "Real" played to a draw in the central match of the 8th round of the Spanish La Ligaseason 2024/25. The match at the Metropolitano stadium in Madrid ended with a score of 1:1.

The first half passed without goals. After the break, the “creamy ones” opened the scoring – in the 64th minute, after a pass from Vinicius Junior, Eder Militao scored.

A few minutes after the goal was scored, the match was interrupted. Fans of the “mattress makers” began throwing various objects onto the field – lighters, coins, bakeries of unknown contents, and also provoked the “blancos” goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois with shouts.

The referee took the teams off the field until the Atletico fans were calmed down. The game resumed 18 minutes later.

The denouement of the confrontation came in injury time. In the 90+5th minute, Angel Correa's goal saved Diego Simeone's team from defeat in the Madrid derby.

It should be noted that the “mattress makers” played out the match with a man down – in the 90+9th minute, Marcos Llorente earned a direct red card and a dismissal.

Ukrainian goalkeeper of the “Royal Club” Andriy Lunin spent the entire match on the bench. This season, the 25-year-old goalkeeper of the Ukrainian national team, who extended his contract with Real Madrid until the summer of 2030, has not yet played a single match for the Madrid team.
