Donetsk Shakhtar suffered a crushing defeat to Italy's Atalanta in the second round match of the main stage of the 2024/25 Champions League. The match at the Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen, Germany ended with a score of 0:3.
In the first half, the “Bergamaschi” scored twice in the goal of the Ukrainian champions. In the 21st minute, Berat Djimsiti opened the scoring after a free kick and a pass from Ademola Lookman.
In the 41st minute, Lookman scored himself, with one touch from within the penalty area, completing a pass from Sead Kolasinac.
Immediately after the break, the current winner of the Europa League sent the third goal into the goal of the “orange-blacks” – in the 48th minute, Raul Bellanova headed in a pass from the left flank of the penalty area from Davide Zappacosta.
