 Ukrainian handball player dies in war with Russian occupiers

Roman Zayets gave his life for the independence of Ukraine.

Ukrainian handball player Roman Zayets died in the war against Russian occupiers.

The tragic news was reported by the Handball Federation of Ukraine.

It is noted that Roman died on September 27, 2024 near Donetsk. He was 29 years old.

Zayats was a 2018 graduate of the Faculty of Pedagogical Education of the Ivan Bobersky Lviv State University of Physical Education, who studied at the Department of Sports and Recreational Games (sports specialization – handball).

Roman repeatedly became the winner of the Lviv region Universiades, the bronze medalist of the 2015 Ukrainian Universiade, the silver medalist of the 2017 Ukrainian Universiade, and was a player for the SKA-Lviv Ukrainian Championship team.

Earlier it was reported that two-time world champion in pankration Yaroslav Strelets died in the war against the Russian occupiers.
