The Rivne club improved its position in the Ukrainian championship standings.

“Veres" achieved a comeback victory over “Zorya" in a home match of the 9th round of the Ukrainian Premier League (UPL) season 2024/25. The match at the Avangard stadium in Rivne ended with a score of 2:1.

Already in the 9th minute of the match, the Luhansk team opened the scoring – Igor Gorbach scored after a pass from Denis Antyukh.

However, the hosts quickly recouped – in the 18th minute, Marko Mrvalevich made an accurate header, taking advantage of a pass from Mykhailo Protasevich.

The Rivne club scored the winning goal at the beginning of the second half thanks to the Brazilian legionnaires. In the 54th minute, Luan scored a low shot from twenty meters, having previously received the ball from Iago Sicqueira.

Review of the match “Veres” – “Zorya”

Thus, “Veres” interrupted its four-match winless streak in the UPL and with 9 points rose to 11th place in the tournament table. “Zorya” with 12 points is in 7th place.

In the tenth round of the Ukrainian championship, which will take place after the international break, “Veres” will play away against “Chernomorets” on October 20, and “Zorya” will meet with “Kryvbas” on the same day.
